This highly anticipated premium first-flush Darjeeling was the first plucking of the season and was air-freighted to us!
Victoria’s Peak—named for Queen Victoria—is a section within the Steinthal Estate. And the Steinthal tea garden is Darjeeling’s oldest, begun in 1852 by German missionary Joachim Stoelke. Today, the Steinthal Tea Estate is managed together with the Singtom Tea Estate.
Due to the garden’s high elevation, the plants grow slowly. This measured growth, along with the mountainous environment, give complexity to this organically grown tea.
Preparation: 3 g tea leaves (1 heaping teaspoon) per 8 oz cup of filtered water, boiled and cooled to 90°C/194°F. Allow to brew 2 min.
